Hi! I'm Franco Becvort — I go by Pollito online. I'm a software developer living in Lisbon, Portugal, originally from Argentina.

I build software across the stack, from LLM-powered developer tools to cloud-native microservices handling hundreds of thousands of requests a day. I care about clean architecture, reproducible systems, and tools that make other developers more productive.

Right now I'm a core contributor to Velx, an AI platform that analyzes, distills, and documents large-scale codebases (named in Gartner's first Magic Quadrant for its category). My day-to-day involves MCP server tooling, distillation engines, React-based diagram editors, and LLM evaluation benchmarks — all in TypeScript, Deno, and Python.

Before the AI work, I spent years in the Java and Spring Boot ecosystem, focused on authentication systems, identity migrations, and multi-cloud deployments for fintech and enterprise clients.

When I'm not at the keyboard, you'll find me tinkering with my NixOS setup, reading, or exploring Lisbon.

• Built MCP (Model Context Protocol) server tools for planning, code review, and LLM agent prompts. Improved the distillation engine with context-aware skipping and cost/token metrics.
• Created an interactive C4/Mermaid architecture-diagram editor in React.

Java Spring Boot Developer, Devsu — May 2023 to Oct 2025

• Part of the customer security and onboarding team for Ecuador's largest private bank.
• Helped migrate all customer identities from WSO2 Identity Server to Auth0, replatforming authentication flows serving roughly 600,000 requests per day with near-zero room for error.
• Maintained identity providers across a heterogeneous landscape of Java/Spring Boot microservices deployed on both Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
